Ward, Sean (Dublin, formerly of U.S.A. and Cork) –

6th January, 2018.

Peacefully, at the Beacon Hospital, Sandyford, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved of Agnes, his devoted wife and carer of 54 years; much loved father to Caitríona, Donal, Desmond, Eoin, Conor and Norah. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, by his sons and daughters, their spouses and betrothed – Nicky, Candace, Fiona and Ciarán; by his adored grandchildren, Fergus, Desmond, Audrey and Éabha, his surviving sister, Maura, extended family and many friends.

May he rest in peace

Reposing at Massey Bros. Funeral Home, 5 Newtown Park, Blackrock, this Monday evening between 6pm and 8pm. House private. Removal on Tuesday, to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Foxrock, arriving at 11.20am for 11.30am Requiem Mass with a private cremation service thereafter in Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Fr. Peter McVerry Trust.

Update on ease of Government restrictions on funeral services, as of Monday 10th May.

Unfortunately, it is still not possible to have a large funeral as we still navigate the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. We understand how difficult this is for you the families we serve but the safety of everyone is our priority. We must play our part in the strict adherence to these instructions.

Only immediate family and close friends should attend the funeral.

No more than 50 people are permitted to attend the funeral service or be present at the graveside. Numbers allowed in Crematoria vary, your Funeral Arranger will be able to advise on exact numbers.

The numbers who may attend gatherings in our funeral homes is limited at this time. Again, your Funeral Arranger can advise you on the numbers as it depends on the size of the funeral home.

Face masks must be worn when entering our funeral homes. It is also recommended that they are worn in churches and crematoriums. When visiting our funeral homes for your safety, we ask that you provide your contact details for the benefit of track and trace.

Those in attendance will also need to follow social distancing guidelines. This means all funeral attendees must keep a distance of 2 metres apart.

Physical interactions including shaking hands and hugging must be avoided.

Those who are self-isolating or need to restrict their movements can not attend funerals.

Many of our churches have implemented streaming services so that family and friends can view the service from home. Please ask your Funeral arranger for details.
