Your Massey Bros.

We have interviewed our wonderful employees who have dedicated themselves to looking after your families and loved ones. We hope you enjoy our “Your Massey Bros” series, reading and learning about our incredible team, that we are so lucky & grateful to have in the Massey Bros family.

For this series, we have spoken to Ann Bradley of Inchicore, Susan Guinan of Blackrock, Peter Maguire of Crumlin & Aileen Keenan of Templeogue.

Ann Bradley

Ann Bradley, Funeral Arranger & Inchicore Branch Manager.

Ann has been with Massey Bros for an incredible 37 years and is one of our longest & most treasured funeral arrangers.

WHAT DOES YOUR JOB MEAN TO YOU?

My job is very important to me because I feel I help people when they are at a very low ebb. I feel very privileged to assist them with dignity and compassion at Massey Bros.

WHAT IS THE FAVOURITE PART OF YOUR DAY?

My favourite part of the day is going home knowing that I have given a hundred percent to my day. I also enjoy when a repose takes place in the funeral home as there is usually always a lovely friendly atmosphere and I love hearing stories about the deceased from the family.

Susan Guinan

Managing Director, Susan Guinan (nee Maguire)

Whilst I started full time in 1996, already at that stage I was well versed in the business through my father Freddie who only stood down as Managing Director in late 2020.

How did you become interested in the funeral industry?

We are the third generation of the family to be involved with Massey Bros. It’s been a huge part of my life and I am honoured to be able to continue that legacy along with my siblings.

What makes Massey Bros. special?

Our team. There are so many people involved in each funeral and we all pull together seamlessly to ensure the memory of the deceased is honoured appropriately and with respect. I'm also delighted that 60% of our workforce are female. What was typically seen as a male-dominated industry, has changed vastly over the last number of years, and I am proud to champion that.

Peter Maguire

PETER MAGUIRE, Director of crumlin

Family Member, who has been with Massey bros for over 20 years.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECT OF THE JOB?

Without question, being able to help families at the most difficult time of their lives. There is nothing more rewarding after a long day’s work than feeling you made a difference to someone suffering from grief.

WHY DO YOU ENJOY WORKING IN FUNERAL SERVICE?

Working in this industry really gives you a deep sense of appreciation of how life can be so short for some, tragic in other cases, and natural for some. My job gives me joy and happiness when conducting the funeral and orchestrating all the movements that create a truly memorable funeral for the family to remember.

Aileen Keenan

Aileen Keenan, Funeral Arranger, and Memorial Manager of Templeogue

Aileen has worked with Massey Bros for over 7 years.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?

My job means the world to me, job satisfaction never really meant anything to me before I started in Massey Bros. But now I understand exactly what it means. Helping families from the first phone call right through to the end is so satisfying and meaningful.

What’s your favourite part of your day?

My favourite part of the day is the benefit of doing something meaningful for someone every day. The more you give the more you stand to gain.

What makes massey bros special?

The people I work with make my day every day, I couldn’t do it without their knowledge and continuous support.
